A former civil servant, I’ve been happily married for more than thirty years with a life-long passion for music and horse racing. I have written more than fifty songs and over two hundred letters published in racing trade publications.
When I was seventeen, I worked with my father as a drain layer on building sites. At eighteen I packed my job in to back horses as a professional gambler, betting on a system of my father’s invention, a bit like Daniel in the book.
